There is no required or preferred study method to prepare for the APTD or the CPTD exam. Candidates should refer to the APTD or CPTD Certification Handbooks for the Exam Content Outline for each credential, which will detail the topics covered on the exam. Each Candidate Handbook also has a Gap Analysis to help candidates determine how to focus their study.
Additionally, the Candidate Handbooks contain a resource reading list of professional texts, organized by topic area, which may help candidates close any knowledge gaps.
ATD’s Education team has developed the Talent Development Body of Knowledge and on-demand, self-paced preparation courses to assist with filling knowledge gaps and gaining confidence in the material covered on the exam.
