The APTD is designed for talent development professionals who are in the early part of their careers or whose professional roles are focused on more than talent development responsibilities, such as a subject matter expert who is also a trainer. An APTD credential holder understands that well-designed talent development strategies and solutions contribute to organizational success and has a strong grounding in the foundational knowledge of the field. The APTD is designed for professionals with at least three years of work experience in the talent development field.
To earn the credential, candidates must meet eligibility requirements which include having at least three years of professional experience and at least 28 hours of professional development in talent development where the candidate is the learner. Eligible candidates must then successfully complete a 115-item exam designed to assess the application of foundational knowledge, as described in the Talent Development Capability Model. More information about the APTD credential can be found here: td.org/certification/aptd/introduction.
